Welcome to Chantry Middle School.
Our school is a school for children of nine to thirteen years. We are a high achieving school, with a reputation for academic excellence for all.
Chantry Middle School is a vibrant place to work and learn. Our dedicated and talented staff ensure that students are challenged to meet their potential, in a supportive environment.
We have a holistic view of education, with further excellence in our Technology Specialism. We cater for a wide range of interests through an extensive enrichment and extra-curricular programme. We believe there is something here for everyone.
Since 2009 we have been part of The Three Rivers Federation with Newminster Middle School and The King Edward VI High School, and we also have a very close working relationship with Dr Thomlinson Middle School in Rothbury.
In December 2011, we became a converter academy and are now known as The Three Rivers Learning Trust Ltd. We will ensure we maintain the best traditions of our history, build upon our considerable strengths and meet the challenges of the future with confidence. We look forward to meeting you.
We offer a large range of additional activities ranging from a highly successful school orchestra and bands to our numerous sporting pursuits, clubs, school trips and visits. Our greatest assets are our students and staff who jointly provide the atmosphere and environment for successful learning to take place.
On entry to the school, each students is allocated to one of four groups, which are, as far as possible, equal in ability and representation from our urban and rural communities. These form groups are named after the class teacher. The students are allocated a house as part of the school’s house system:
These names were taken from prominent local families in Morpeth’s history. Various inter-house competitions take place in the course of the school year.
We hope you find our website both useful and informative. We strive to continually keep the information on this site as up to date as possible and welcome any feedback that you may have.
