Personal Development Statement of Intent for CMS
At Chantry Middle School we want our PSHE curriculum to develop the knowledge, skills and personal attributes our pupils need in order to…
- understand fundamental British Values and how they relate to them as an individual.
- become knowledgeable, understanding and responsible local, national and global citizens.
- maintain positive, safe and healthy friendships and relationships.
- keep themselves safe and healthy physically, mentally, offline and online.
Curriculum across the year
Pupils receive 1 hr of Personal Development per week throughout the school. Lessons are supplemented with key stage assemblies which include external speakers. Further enrichment activities take place throughout the year like ‘Anti-bullying’ and ‘Children’s Mental Health’ weeks. Form tutors utilise registration times to carry out personal development activities and to encourage Chantry’s Character Curriculum to be continuously valued.
