Year 8 students Sarah and Georgina recently attended the national Big Bang Science Fair at the Birmingham NEC.
The girls were selected to present their project work called “Investigating the Amount of Microbes Around School”. They had previously presented their work at the regional Big Bang Science Fair in Newcastle and had been selected to go through to the national finals.
The Birmingham finals is a massive event and the girls were up against hundreds of the sharpest science minds from across the UK, many of whom were much older and more experienced. Despite their nerves, the girls gave a very creditable performance to the panel of judges who viewed their work.
Very well done to Sarah and Georgina for representing Chantry on the national stage.
