The American President, Donald Trump, insists on having a travel ban.

On January 27th, Donald Trump issued an executive order. It bans citizens from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the U.S.A.. It also halts refugees from Syria.

The day after Trump revealed his discriminatory plans, there were mass protests in airports across America. A federal judge in Massachusetts blocked a part of Trump’s order due to the controversy. Even after the judge denied part of his plans, Trump was still certain that the order should take place. He insisted that his order would protect the country from terrorists. He said in a statement, “This is not about religion.This is about terror and protecting our country.” Obama said in a statement that he “fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion”.

On March 6th, the new travel ban plans were released. The new travel ban excludes Iraq from the list of major Muslim countries who were temporarily blocked from entering America.The new travel ban was meant to take effect on March 16th. As soon as Hawaii heard about it, they immediately filed a lawsuit against Trump asking for a temporary restraining order from the travel ban. Two federal judges have temporarily blocked Trump’s discriminatory travel ban.
