Dave Burn came to Chantry on Monday 1st of December to do a ‘Personal Safety and Staying Safe on the Streets’ workshop with Year 6. The workshop educated our students about various aspects of personal safety ranging from mobile phones to internet. Dave also discussed student safety whilst out in the community with their friends.DaveBurnsDec2014

Dave Burn is a ‘Be Safe’ trainer. ‘Be Safe’ works in partnership with the Home Office to provide workshops in schools and colleges where they can access young people. The workshops form part of a five year national strategy which aims to reduce the number of young people that are placing themselves in dangerous situations whilst out in the community.

“Since Dave came in, I have a better understanding of how to stay safe. I enjoyed the short video clips because they get serious points across well. I learned that it is important to help your friends stay safe as well.” Luke Hodgson 6N
