pathOne of our parents (Dr Brown) works at the Wansbeck General Hospital as a Consultant Clinical Scientist, he has supported the British Science Week activities at Chantry in the past. Dr Brown has made school aware of two competitions that our students may wish to enter.

As part of National Pathology Week 2015, The Royal College of Pathology is running four competitions aimed at students and the general public. The ‘Art of Pathology’ and ‘My Favourite Pathologist’ competitions have age related categories that our students are able to enter. Please see the details below for more information about how to enter, prizes and deadlines.

‘Art of Pathology’ competition
We are looking for artwork entries that depict objects and tools used by pathologists and scientists around the world. For inspiration, entrants can have a look at the objects highlighted in our 50th anniversary publication, ‘A History of Pathology in 50 Objects’. Prizes of £100 will be awarded in the following categories: under 11, 11 -18 and over 18. Entries to be submitted to [email protected] by 11 October 2015.

‘My Favourite Pathologist’ poster competition
We invite everyone aged 5-16 to design an A1 poster on the subject of ‘My favourite pathologist’. £50 in Amazon vouchers will be awarded to the most creative poster in the following categories: primary schools and secondary schools. Entries to be submitted to [email protected] by 11 October 2015.
